Practical Examination

Practical Examinations are administered in March and September of each year. Deadlines to submit the application for the examination are 45 days prior to the examination date. The practical examination is given at 1400 W. Washington, Phoenix, AZ, in Room B-1.
FYI:There is a high possibility that there may be quorum of Board members present at each examination. No Board action will be taken at these examinations.

Examination date for 2010:  March 3rd and September 1st.
Deadline for submission:  January 15th and July 16th.

Meeting Dates

The Arizona State Board of Dispensing Opticians usually meets the first Wednesday of each month unless otherwise specified.   The Board has changed its regularly scheduled meeting time from 10:00 am to 10:30 am.

Notice:  The agenda may be amended at any time up to 24 hours before a meeting and information concerning such amendments can be obtained by contacting the Board’s Executive Director.

                                         Meeting Dates for 2010

On all meeting dates (with the exception of the March and September dates when exams are administered) the Board will meet at 10:30 am for regular meetings and 10:30 am for teleconferences. 

Continuing Education

Each licensee shall submit documentation to the Board verifying that the licensee has completed 12 hours or more of continuing education, within each three-year period. Of the twelve hours of continuing education, each licensee shall obtain at least:
